What is a Bing and How Did it Get To Portland?

Jian Bing is classic Beijing Street Food. Alisa Grandy had spent a delightful few weeks in Thailand in April of 2014 and while flying home to Portland she had a layover in Beijing. Alisa had a her first Jian Bing that fateful day  and she loved it!!!

One thing let to another, and Alisa made her mind up to open a Food Cart that featured the Chinese dish that she had fallen in love with on the streets of Beijing, China.

Within 7 months of having enjoyed a Bing in Beijing, Alisa was selling them on the streets of Portland.

Trust Me – You Want a Bing!

I had a Bing on Thursday and I loved it! It has great flavors and the wonton cracker that is inside of it, provides a delightful texture. Make sure to say “yes'” to plum sauce when they ask.

When you order, you are asked about how spicy you want your Bing to be – Light, Medium, or Very! I choose the medium and I had plenty of spice. I am sure that my friend Aaron Wakamatsu would love the “Very Spicy” Bing!

Options!

This time I got a basic Bing, next time I go, I will be ordering a Bing with sausage and an extra egg – just too see what it is like.

At Bing Mi!, they offer three fun speciality drinks,  I order a Soursop drink and it was exquisite! I really, really, liked it!
